Olympic Games Opening Night Ceremonies Dolphin Hotel

Following an intense Hidden Mickey Hunt Friday afternoon,  we decided to go to Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort for dinner.  

  We were pleasantly surprised to find the Dolphin had invited four Olympic Medalists to join their guests in the lobby before the opening ceremonies were broadcast.

Like most of world we very much enjoy the Olympics and have a tremendous respect for the heart and soul of these dedicated athletes. 

We were able to shake the hands of Olympians:  Fred Tyler, Scott Johnson, Wendy Bruce-Martin and David Oliver.

Fred Tyler, 1972 Gold Medal Olympian, gold medal in the 4x200 meter freestyle relay (swimming)  and took fifth in the 200 meter free at the 1972 games in Munich Germany.

Scott Johnson , 1984 Gold Medal Olympian, 1988 Olympic Team Captain.  Scott is a two-time Olympian gymnast.

Wendy Bruce-Martin, 1992 Bronze Medal Olympian.  Part of the gymnastics team USA in 1992  Barcelona, Spain.

The Dolphin Resort also provided some light refreshments for the guests and surrounded their lobby with large screen TVs.  Their guests could share the excitement of the opening ceremonies together.  We had a great time. What a good idea.
