STAR TOUR'S GRAND OPENING AT DISNEY'S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

Posted 9/25/11 by Vickie in

Steve and I had the opportunity to attend a press event the night before “Star Tours — The Adventures Continue,”  opened in Disney's Hollywood Studios.  The grand opening was on May 20, 2011.  For those of you who loved the original ride, no worries, you should love this one even more.  Disney has added Dolby 3-D, and the ride is a little bit different each time, up to more than 50 possible variations.   Just think, that means you have to ride more than 50 times on your next visit.   Hope you have an extra day and know how to use fast pass.  Feel free to wear your favorite Star Wars outfit, (as long as your face is showing).  Who knows you may even be picked as a rebel spy.

You will not be sure which characters from the Star Wars movies are going to appear until your adventure is complete, and you are safely returned to earth.  You may or may not find yourself on an adventure with:  R2-D2, C-3PO, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Yoda, Sebulba, Admiral Ackbar, Chewbacca, Jar Jar Binks, and / or Princess Leia.

Remember there are over 50 possible combinations of the ride,  you may or may not visit Kashyyyk, Hoth, Naboo, Coruscant, Tatooine,   and/or Death Star .

Steve was extremely relieved to find that several of the Hidden Mickeys from before were still there.  Along with some new Hidden Mickeys and new Hidden Surprises.  Go to the website catalog to find the new Hidden Mickeys. ( I leave Hidden Mickey hunting and publishing to Steve).

Below is my favorite picture from the evening.  There was a special fireworks show that evening for the event and I was able to get this shot as we were leaving the Tatooine shop.
